Dear all,
Registration for the ERIH Annual Conference 2010 which takes place on 28th and 29th October in one of our
Spanish Anchor Points, the Museu Nacional de la Ciéncia i de la Tècnica de Catalunya (mNACTEC) in
Terrassa near Barcelona is now open.
The subject of this year’s conference is “Industrial Heritage Tourism – Examples of Best Practice". The aim of
the event is to increase awareness of the wide range of activity and good practice that is taking place in this
field across Europe. As the conference is being organised jointly with the TICCIH Industrial Heritage Tourism
Section it will also feature examples of good practice from across the world.

FIRST ANNOUNCEMENT AND CALL FOR PAPERS


We are currently planning the 2010 ERIH Annual Conference which this year will take place in one of our Spanish Anchor Points, the Museu Nacional de la Ciéncia i de la Tècnica de Catalunya (mNACTEC) in Terrassa near Barcelona.

The subject of this year’s Conference will be “Industrial Heritage Tourism – Examples of Best Practice". The aim of the event is to increase awareness of the wide range of activity and good practice that is taking place in this field across Europe. As the Conference is being organised jointly with the TICCIH Industrial Heritage Tourism Section it will also feature examples of good practice from across the world.

Organization

The call for papers will be open until 20th August 2010 and papers should be registered by email to germany@erih.net.

Time slots for presentations will be announced in September, based on the number of papers received. It is envisaged that each time slot will be 10-15 minutes.

General registration will be open soon.

The Conference fee is 55 Euros per person for ERIH or TICCIH members(75 Euros for non-members).

The conference dates have been chosen to enable delegates to spend the weekend at Barcelona following the conference.

Further details of the event, hotels, travel details and the list of papers will be announced asap.

XI Jornadas Internacionales de Patrimonio

A Associação de Arqueologia INCUNA informa que:

"Del 23 al 27 de Septiembre de 2009 se realizarán las XI Jornadas Internacionales de Patrimonio Industrial en Gijón (Asturias), organizadas por INCUNA, con la colaboración de diversas instituciones públicas y privadas.

El tema central en esta ocasión es “Patrimonio y Arqueología de la Industria Cinematográfica”. Con la participación de ponentes internacionales y de las diferentes comunidades autónomas españolas, se impulsará una actuación de cooperación transversal y multicultural, dando ocasión a la presentación de comunicaciones sobre estos temas.

El sábado 26 de septiembre se realizará un itinerario denominado “Llanes de Cine. Ruta por el Patrimonio Industrial asturiano a través de hitos e iconos cinematográficos”. Será un itinerario que rememora un guión cinematográfico con la recreación cultural de escenarios que intuyen, sugieren y descubren los testigos cotidianos de nuestro pasado industrial, sin que falte una
evaluación del patrimonio gastronómico de la zona, y las obligadas referencias temáticas y bibliográficas al respecto de la visita guiada.

Y el domingo 27 de septiembre se recorrerán los escenarios y paisajes en los que el director asturiano Tom Fernández rodó la película “La Torre de Suso” ambientada en la cuenca minera asturiana, con visitas al poblado minero de Bustiello, explotación minera de Santa Bárbara, valle de Turón, etc.

En el marco de las Jornadas, también se desarrollarán actividades complementarias a las sesiones congresuales como la exposición “El Cine Evocado. Viaje a los objetos y espacios del 7º Arte” que traerá, por primera vez a Asturias, fondos cinematográficos de la Filmoteca Española, algunas de aquellas máquinas que fueron las primeras en cumplir el viejo sueño de captar imágenes en movimiento y también deja constancia de espacios y lugares que merecen un lugar de privilegio en nuestra memoria colectiva.

Esta semana recomendamos a visita ao site da Sociedad Española de Historia de Arqueología. Apesar de se dedicar a vários temas relacionados com a Arqueologia desde a Pré-História até à Idade Contemporânea, nos post's mais recentes tem focado a Arqueologia e o Património Industrial, através de conferência, colóquis e seminários.
